Tang Suit Collection | Chinese Wedding Suits for Groom

custom tang suits and zhongshan suits

Our Tang suits are designed for grooms, fathers, and family members who want a look that blends Chinese tradition with modern tailoring.

The four Tang suits shown below are our base designs. They serve as a starting point for your own creation. During your consultation, we can adjust the fabric, embroidery coverage, or color to match your wedding theme and story.

You can also explore the Zhongshan suit, known as the Chinese suit. It features a structured, tailored design and is often chosen for its sleek and modern look.

tang suit and zhongshan suit

The Tang suit and Zhongshan suit both hold cultural meaning but differ in style and tailoring.

A Tang suit has a Mandarin collar, frog buttons, and a relaxed fit. It is often made of silk or brocade with hand embroidery of dragons, phoenixes, or sea waves that symbolize blessings and harmony.

A Zhongshan suit, also known as the Chinese suit, has a more structured shape with clean lines and four pockets. Many modern grooms choose it for its tailored fit that highlights the shoulders and waist while keeping a elegant and confident look.

design and embroidery

Each Tang suit begins with an individual pattern tailored to the client’s body. We work with fine materials such as silk brocade, jacquard, or wool blend.

For multicultural weddings, symbols can be blended to represent blessings from both cultures. One example is our Tang suit featuring a hand-embroidered peacock and dragon, which combines Chinese and Indian traditions of prosperity, strength, and harmony.

Linings can include hidden motifs or initials that hold personal meaning. Every detail, from the Pankou closure to the embroidered sleeve cuffs, is completed with precision and cultural respect.

Tailoring and Experience

Through the past 20 years, our team has learned to balance couture tailoring with the beauty of Chinese tradition. We pay close attention to shoulder shape, sleeve balance, and fit across the chest and waist, areas that define a well-made men’s jacket. The result is a suit that looks formal yet feels natural to wear.

If you have never worn a silk-lined jacket and pants, you should try it. Silk is breathable, flexible, and absorbs moisture, keeping you comfortable in any season.

styling and paring guide

When choosing between the two styles, consider your partner’s outfit and the tone of your wedding.

If your bride is wearing a traditional red and gold Chinese wedding dress, a Tang suit with embroidery is the best match, complementing the colors and symbolism of blessings and prosperity.

If she is wearing a modern Cheongsam or Western gown, a Zhongshan suit is the ideal choice. Its clean lines and tailored shape create a refined and balanced pairing, blending cultural heritage with modern elegance.
